The difference between semi-deduicated and VPS
Can anybody explain me the difference between semi-dedicated hosting plans and VPS plans, I'm considering
a2hosting.com offers

http://www.a2hosting.com/vps_hosting.php and can't get how semi-dedicated could be cheaper?

There are some differences:
Information from A2hosting.com website:

And about VPS:

So as far as I understand all depend on complexity of project you are going to host with A2hosting.com

Besides, A2hosting.com support such services as:
cPanel Manager, PHP 5.2.1 hosting, MySQL 5.0.x/4.1.x hosting, PostgreSQL 8.2.x, Fantastico De Luxe, Perl, Ruby 1.8.5, Ruby on Rails 1.2.x, SSL, Python, SSI, Front Page Extensions, SpamAssassin Filters, and More.

What do you want exactly to have from A2hosting.com - VPS or semi-dedi?

I consider these are very useful services from A2hosting.com. I have never seen it from any other web hosting companies before.

semidedi is just a big shared hosting which may be used if the project requires more resources than usual shared plan can provide, but less than VPS.

Good semi-dedicated plans are there @ downtownhost.com - cheap and feature-rich.

In other words: the same difference as between shared and VPS hosting. If to start it is better to go with semi-dedicated plan, and henceforth upgrade if necessary.

And I may confirm that downtownhost.com provides qualified hosting, their semi-dedicated deals are really good...

Now I see how stupid was my question...

I looked through the offerings of another company, downtownhost.com find them also attractive. But, plans have changed, so I am not going to host anything yet...
