Rep Power: 0 | Featureprice is a pile of crap! we've been with featureprice for about 6 months now, and are finally fed up and looking to go with verio.
it's more expensive, but hopefully it actually works.
does anybody know anything about it?
our email and website have been down for the past two days. http://www.strictlyfx.com
when it does work, it takes several minutes to download even the smallest files. |

Oh, btw, I HATE the fact that hosting companies just want money! I should say some. Some have free services which is so awesome. They really care!
Hugz and Kissez to everyone!

Rep Power: 0 | I'm having huge problems right now receiving email and connecting through ftp. This is a *very* consistent problem and far exceeds the 99% uptime that we were promised.
We have a T1 connection, and we both have cable at our houses and still have problems accessing most of the time from any of the locations.
For all of the selling and promises, Feature Price is pretty useless. |

Rep Power: 0 | Well. They're going out of business and asking everyone to find new hosts, so there ya go.
To reiterate:
Featureprice is a huge pile of crap, and the spawn of the devil. |

Rep Power: 10 | Going out of business? Where did you learn about them going out of business? I went through their site and didn't see anything mentioning this.
Or did you just mean because of the bad service they are doomed?

Rep Power: 0 | Actually, on Monday or Tuesday the site was completely different. It was a long explanation of what had happened to them and how things didn't work out and a list of people who had tried to buy them out and who might be able to host your site, and it was updated at least once on that day. This list usually makes people suspect, but it was a rather harsh and honest list, naming some companies as a great deal with absolutely no customer service, or great customer service with not much of a backbone...
It also had the name of a guy who had been involved with them, and suggested not to ever do business with any business involving this guy, because he was generally on the verge of doing a lot of illegal stuff, or at least taking heavy advantage of loop holes in the systems that are in place...
Then the next day everything was seemingly back to normal. Unless you go to the support section. Different parts of this have not worked right since. For some time the support page went directly to the sales page. The help desk often will not go anywhere at all.
Maybe they were hacked, but at any rate there are major issues. Sometimes our site half loads, and it takes forever, even on a T1. Sometimes email logs on, and sometimes it doesn't. The problems are intermittent, but hour by hour at this point, not day by day.
I almost copied the page, because it was interesting, to say the least, but didn't. Now I wish I had because it also garnered some respect for the people who founded Feature Price, who had great service up until about four months ago. |

Rep Power: 0 | Well... we switched services, and it's a good thing too.
The DNS hasn't propogated yet, but depending on your location, the site is up and running under the new host, and completely down with Featureprice. We haven't cancelled anything, and still have several months left of our yearly contract.
To any of you still with them, they say they are upgrading their systems, and I wish you the best of luck. I am glad that this won't be a part of my professional life any more.
Thanks for your ear!

Rep Power: 0 | which company did you switch over to aaraaf? Was the transition an easy one for you and was there any down time? Let us know how it all went, I'm sure there are quite a few people who are interested in knowing. |

Rep Power: 0 | Don't hold your breath For those of you sticking it out with FP, don't hold your breath. I've met with the FL AG, FBT and local news here on them already. Next up US AG and FCC, as well as complaints to ICANN.
Check yourhostsucks.com for details on this, as well as featureprice-review.com for details on the class action suit.
They managed to destroy in 8 short months what it took my family 3 long years to build up.
FeaturePricks.com is a sham. |

Rep Power: 0 | I feel funny saying the host that we switched to, just to not seem like a commercial.
In so far we are happy, but it is such a new transition that I'd like to look at it harder to make sure that we like it.
It is intriguing that while everything was propogating this weekend that our Feature Price site was down, even though we haven't cancelled our service yet.
I would be cautious with them, because their webmail site still hasn't been reactivated after the "hacking". Also, email clients like outlook and eudora couldn't log into their mail servers.
Our company lost email because of this, and we do some big stuff with clients who don't like to wait. It may have cost us a gig, and makes us look irresponsible and non-responsive.
As for hulaKeiki, I send my consolation. It's horrible to sink time and money into an investment and loose them all to the silly squabbles that destroy businesses.

Rep Power: 10 | Interested in who you switched to.. I'm interested in hearing who you guys switched to? We always like to hear about a good hosting company.
Also, did you find them on FindMyHost?
Chris
P.S. Featureprice is no longer on the FindMyHost.com site, they were removed. |

Rep Power: 0 | BIG MAHALO - Thanks! I have FINALLY moved my 12 domains/sites to a new host and am just awaiting final transfer/dns propagation.
We are thrilled with HostGator.com and happy that they are local to us. They have been very helpful to this very non-technical, family-only, reseller/web designer. My family "clients" are no longer ready to disown me
Here's hoping everyone finds a good host and their nitemare with FeaturePricks.com/DotRegistraHostage.com ends soon, if it has not already.
I still want to be involved in any legal or civil action against them ( http://featureprice-review.com/class_action_form.html), so I'll stay current on the forums regarding such.
Again... MAHALO to many in this forum for their support and assistance! |
