I had a simular experience with GISOL as pkazmercyk had with Globat. I signed up with them because their prices and features were very attractive. I got my site up and running great for the first few days until the performance started to go downhill, even brief periods of total shutdown, and finally was totally shut down for at least 4 days with no notice or explanation from GISOL. They effectively killed any business I got started with my site. You can forget about getting thru to them via telephone. I filled out a trouble ticket and a couple of days later they finally replied to it and here is what they said,

Your site is being moved to a new server as part of increasing the performance. Kindly wait until this migration is over. Only after this you can access your site.

Well, thanks for nothing. With no indication from them about when I might be back up and running, I finally had to sign up with another host (
Webmasters.com, fantastic company!) and cancel with GISOL on 11/22/03. They supposedly have a 30 day money back guarantee, but they only wanted to refund about half of my money. I would have paid them for the domain name registration, but they also wanted to charge me for more than the price of a regular month's fee for only a few days of use. They advertise a 24 second guarantee which says that if your site goes down for more than 24 seconds in a month then they will refund that month's fee. Do I see a contradiction here? Their policy states that they will cancel your account within 1 week pending their bullcrap "account cancellation verification process". Well, it's been over a month and still not cancelled.
Since GISOL has tied up my domain name by not cancelling my account and not letting me pay for just the domain name registration so I can redirect it to Webmasters.com, I was forced to give up my internet endeavor for now and cancel with Webmasters.com as well. Webmasters.com are amazing and have excellent service. They honor their policies and cancelled my account and refunded my full amount within one day. I hated to do that to such a nice company, but thanks to GISOL pissing on everybodies parade, it couldn't be helped. And to think, I almost signed up with Webmasters.com first. My first instincs are usually right, but that deceptive lure of GISOL's advertised prices and features got to me.
So, I was forced to do a charge back of the full price from GISOL and got it with no problem in light of all the damning evidence I provided my credit card company. 15 pages worth. If this link is still active, then that's self proof of GISOL's lies. At the time of this post, it still is active.

GISOL, guess what! You can take this domain name and firmly insert it where the cyber sun don't shine. I wasn't that crazy about it anyway. Plenty more available from that great well of imagination. Toodaloo!
