Host Department is Lousy

I have been using host department for several months. Windows shared hosing using ASP & SQL server and I have to contact them all the time about my site taking forever to load pages and timing out.

They just moved everything to new servers and in the process, left me without ASPImage which my site depends on for thumbnail creation. I contacted them about it and they told me that they would load it on if I provided it and had the license.

It was provided with the service as one of their provided components and now they tell me I have to pay for it!?!?

Then I find out that their toll free number (1-866-887-HOST) listed on the home page is no good, so the only way to contact them is through incident posts or their little live chat screen. So I can't talk to any one in charge to get this issued resolved.

They advertise 100% customer satisfaction gauranteed, but do nothing to ensure it.

With their poor service, poor customer service, and the fact that they crippled my site without notifying me pretty much convinces me that they have got to be the worst web host I have ever had the displeasure of using.

I had a host who often sent me passwords and sales results, and other fun stuff to my email for sites I had never even heard of. Once even a stream of credit card numbers were sent. That was when I thought best to find a new host.

I didn't read your complaint!

I didn't have to because I was also a victim of Host Department about a year ago. From what I remember whenever I contacted them it was always something I did! One time I had to write a simple "Hello World" asp file just to prove that it was not MY fault!

They made me jump through hoops before they would admit something needed to be taken care of. I felt as if they were all standing around watching one of their tech people screw with me on their chat system. Yes, it was that bad.

By the way... don't go to Vaticus they're even worse!!! I'll complain about them in another thread....
