YouTube Hosting - shared or vps?

Plz advise on the host to choose cirtex.com or hostV.com, both offer the feature I need for video sharing FFMPeg.

I'd go with HostV.com as this company specializes in providing FFMpeg. Plus double RAM and a discount make services from this company very attractive.

FFMpeg is better to use from the company that specializes in it. It goes without saying. That's why HostV.com looks more attractive in this case.
I'd go with them.

Choosing between a shared and vps plans to host YouTube site you should think about the traffic size you are going to have. I think that both companies are equally good, it's just the difference between the amount of resources that shared and vps plans offer.

Shared video scripts are available from HostV.com. FFMpeg and Red5 are included in their plans and it's the right place for providing video streaming services.

Double RAM is available from HostV.com. The discounts on their VPS and dedis are also helpful things for getting services from them much cheaper.

Joice,

Both companies recently passed our Approved Host testing program (FindMyHost.com - Web Hosting Reviews, Consumer Ratings!).

While both companies offer all the features you require, I personally prefer the VPS solutions over at HostV. This will essentially give you the right resources to ensure your video's are continually streaming and not be effected by what anyone else is doing on the server (should you go with the shared options at Cirtex).

Could you please tell more about this Approved Host testing program? What does a host need to apply for it?

Talking about HostV.com or Cirtexhosting.com, I'd definitely go for vps packages as CPU limitations inherent to the shared environment won't let your site grow significantly.

Application for web hosts to the Approved Host program is FREE and available at: http://www.webhostreportcards.com/we...plication.aspx

A test account will be needed when submitting your application and details on what will be covered in testing along with the consumer guarantee we provide consumers is available at: http://www.findmyhost.com/how_we_test.asp

Absolutely and web hosts who successfully pass the Approved Host program have gone on to inform potential customers who are either coming from a bad experience or are undecided about the host what they have accomplished.

So it works extremely well for both the web host and consumer.

It's worth checking Cirtexhosting.com resource abuse policy and see if it allows you to run your site smoothly without affecting its peformance. If not, then HostV.com vps plan should be your choice.

How To Make A Youtube Website Clone

These are step-by-step guidelines on how to build a YouTube site, FFMpeg is a must for it.
One of the good hosting solutions in this case might be a semi-dedicated package with FFMPeg installed.
You can look into Downtownhost.com plans to check pricing and features of the plan.

I think you need shared hosting that support streaming media features. ServerPoint.com provides multimedia support : Macromedia Flash and Shockwave,
Windows Media Player, RealAudio/Video, Quicktime, MPEG, and others (all via HTTP streaming),
Support for MIDI, IPIX, Fractal images,
PNG images, VRML, and more.
Support for hundreds of file formats.
