Domain within hosting plan.

Some companies offer domain names the price of which is included into the hosting plan you buy. For example MarbleHost.com.

Has anyone ever got such a free domain name ? Should I pay much attention on it?

It is always better to avoid such traps. Domain names costs only a fraction of the cost of hosting anyway. Hosts could use their control over domain name to stop you from breaking the hosting contract. I had couple of clients who had tough time moving the domains from some of the better known web hosts.

I think it's good when you may use a free domain name from the company. It's one of the bonuses that marblehost.com offers.
If I'm not mistaken it's not the only free feature from this company.

I think that it is suitable to buy any hosting plan and get free domain. Say sibername.com offers such free bonuses as domain name, websitematic, etc. Compare companies' offers and choose the most stable and reliable one.

Free domains always problem on ownership and once wants to move will face many problem. Now can get domain with very little charge like less than 2 doller /year. So pay little money for 10 or 5 years and sit happy wheever wants to move host can. All the SE ranking and traffic will be on the domain. So domain is very important to be safe and open with you always

Frankly speaking, I don't see the bad side of buying hosting and get domain name for free, but one thing you should bear in mind that you should deal with the company which is accredited. I have had a good run with sibername.com as it is CIRA, EURID and ICAN-accredited registrar which offers attractive hosting plans also. So I think you can rely on this company.

The thing you should pay attention is TOS is the company.

However, I suppose MarbleHost.com is OK for hosting and for getting a domain name. I think you have made a right choise of such registrar.

See also MMhosting.com - these guys also have free domain names within their plans. Little bit wider selection of deals and own dc. IFor compariso they are very good.

I think marblehost.com is pretty stable to go with. This company offers many useful features and supports php4, (for those who are addicted) and there is pretty usable sitebuilder which could be used for the primitive? template-based designs.

I think their free domain is pretty attractive feature...

I have made own research and approved the suggested companies are really worthyu and honest, so I guess anyone who read this thread has found a companies which are worth of trust...

I have found out that glowhost.com is also offering such bonus and all information about he ownership and the reasons of giving away the domain names is clearly stated on their site.

Hi Joice,

you might also consider the web hosting provider at SeekDotNet.com. The hosting plan are affordable and good customer support as well.

You can choose to register a new domain with them directly of transfer your existing domain to SeekDotNet.com.

@ OP, if you want to reg a domain and host your web site with the same company, it's better to use services from the company that has ICANN accreditation. Say sibername.com will be great for that.
