Whether it is a promo, or not, I shall not recommend getting domains and hosting from the same company as you get hosting from. This may cause problems hen you would decide to migrate, especially if the company is a domian reseller.

The only exclusion I may name is sibername which is accredited registrar offeirng quality hosting solutions, some of which include domain names for no extra charge. Here you won't have problems with transfer, as accredited companies can reg domains only for your name.
