That depends on your ability to admin your own server.
The definition of 'Managed' varies from host to host, so it's best to double check with them before signing up. Usually it means they'll help you with installations and customizations, provide backups, and usually come with a free control panel. Some may remove the root access for managed clients, some won't.

Unmanaged services are generally best suited for those who have experience administering a server. In most cases it means the hosting company will only support the hardware, network and virtualization software. Everything else is up to you.

It depends on many factors. Are you a well-experienced person?

Hi Kollins77

You can have the unmanaged hosting if you are very well experienced in administering the servers and other related technical things.
But if you think you are less aware of technical things, then it will be better to opt-out the managed hosting, to avoid lateral problems and issues.

Hope you got the idea with the reply.
Happy Hosting!!

With lots of hosts you should always check what they understand by "unmanaged" as often some web site administartion basics is covered there, say a2hosting.com offers unmanaged vps plans, but if you feel that you lack the server administration skills, they recommend you to go for their dedicated plan.

I think much depends on your experience.
If you are not well experienced person, you may start from edicated reselling. For example, ServerPoint.com provides this service with discounts.

The question seems to be too abstract, as in each hosting plan there's different understanding of 'a managed VPS solution". You have to explore it and then see to what extent unmanaged solution meets your needs.

Unmanaged is better if you have low budget and its not much difficult manage and also once do it like hosting and other configuration for mail FTP is enough can follow it and also everything will be fast. If you have enough budget can go for managed but services will be little slow. Each and everything have to contact them and will take time to do...
