Hi,

In the context of business websites; designed to promote the website owner’s product(s) and / or service(s), I have 2 questions.

Is content king, or just a way to make sites more appealing to search engines?

Is more content always best, if so best for whom?

Hi,
It depends on what kind of content.
If you write content, which is interesting to your target audience and
makes them quote your site, link to it and come back again to check the
news, that's the reigning content.

The content is mostly created for the visitors, and in this lies its
value.
Sure, search engine crawlers like it too, it's their job after all. But
the true value lies in providing value to your visitors.

More content is best for those who it was intended to be written, of
course.
If your visitors like your content, you will benefit from it too,
obviously.

Hello,

Yes content is important , as the website will be getting high pagerank on
the bases of your content. The search engine crawls to your website ,he also goes through your content and decides the page rank.Will it also depends on what kind or topic your website is.The more content and the proper uses of keyword is good for higher pagerank`.Also the high the pagerank will be the number of visitor visiting the website will be more.

Content is very important and serves two functions.

First, the potential business customers must be able to find the content they need to see so that they can make their decision to order services from the business. If the content doesn't help convert to sales - then the content is useless.

Second, content is important in search engine optimization. I assume that the potential customers will be using search engines to find the business website. So you will need to craft your copy so that it can serve both purposes.

I agree. Good content is good for your website and good website is good for your pocket because it will earn some good money with good traffic. Very good!

Content is still the king and quality is the queen. It is needed for audience as well as search engines.

In my opinion, I still go for content. Recently google updates their algorithm, and surprisingly article submission sites like ezinearticle and articlebase, and press release site like prnewswire got hit by the update. The reason behind this is because if we have one article we can submit it to various article submission sites. Google made the update to reduce or remove those low quality sites that are on the top of their list. Low quality sites that has a dupe content. And I can say that 'content is still the king'. Google still into fresh and unique content.
