GlobalSign Shows 'Fastest SSL Growth Rates'

(Web Hosting News) PORTSMOUTH, NH - GlobalSign, one of the longest established Certification Authorities (CA) and specialists in SSL security, announces it has achieved a 6.1% increase in the number of issued Certificates identified by Netcraft in the month of July*. With this increase GlobalSign has eclipsed the growth rate of the number of Certificates issued by other Certification Authorities including market leader VeriSign, whose market share also fell by 0.65%.
This achievement reinforces the company's standing as VeriSign's most significant enterprise level competitor.

The year so far has been eventful for GlobalSign, with offices operating in the US, UK, Belgium, China and Japan it has now established a strong global reach. During 2008, GlobalSign launched several new SSL deployment and installation technologies for hosting companies and further bolstered its enterprise services after identifying shortcomings in offerings by the competition.

A specialist in SSL partner programs for web hosting companies, GlobalSign has noted significant momentum in its partner program for web hosts and ISPs this year, many of which have switched away from competing SSL reseller programs. New partners cited factors including better margins, strong, feature packed SSL Certificates, dedicated account management and expert marketing support as reasons they joined GlobalSign and the partner program started the second quarter of 2008 with hundreds of satisfied new members.

"2008 has been a very successful year for GlobalSign with the launch of a variety of new services and impressive momentum in its SSL Partner Program. GlobalSign is making waves in what was previously a stagnant SSL market dominated by just one or two players," said John Murray, Vice President of Sales for GlobalSign Inc. "for the remainder of 2008, GlobalSign plans to continue disrupting the SSL market with announcements of more satisfied customers and partners taking advantage of services that are unrivalled in their ease-of use, reliability, functionality and most importantly, cost effectiveness."

The results for July underscore a growing customer preference for GlobalSign's ability to rapidly issue cost effective feature packed Digital Certificates, as well as the strength and reach of the company's trusted root CA technology. GlobalSign SSL Certificates support the new EV SSL standard, Wildcard SSL and Multi-Domain SANs (Subject Alternative
Names) and provide strong SGC encryption as a standard feature. Each Certificate is issued with a trust enhancing clickable site seal, promotional 3 for 1 server licensing, underwritten warranties and AutoCSR (on the fly Certificate Signing Request generation). All GlobalSign SSL offerings are available immediately through the GlobalSign web site and its worldwide reseller and partner network.
