SimpleNet Chooses American Internet Services (AIS) for Data Center Outsourcing

Web Hosting Talk - SAN DIEGO – In a move that is becoming commonplace as businesses look for new ways to re-engineer or lower overall operating costs, American Internet Services today announced that long time San Diego Colocation market competitor SimpleNet, Inc., has made the decision to outsource their Data Center operations to AIS.

In a message to SimpleNet customers on Tuesday, company president John Killian said that economic trends in the recent months had played a large part in the decision to shift the focus of the organization away from owning and operating physical infrastructure, a job for which the AIS organization is perfectly suited. By alleviating the responsibilities of managing the Data Center facility and having to juggle capital budgets for equipment upgrades and build outs, the SimpleNet team can get back to the business of focusing on the customer. “SimpleNet has always been committed to the highest level of service…for this reason…we have made the decision to move SimpleNet operations to American Internet Services (AIS), a renowned state-of-the-art, N+1 datacenter in San Diego,” said Killian.

SimpleNet’s management team explored a number of options in the Southern California area while searching for a suitable home for both their brand and colocation customer base. The AIS Lightwave Data Center, a technology fortress which is centrally located in San Diego, offers over 80,000 square feet of top quality Data Center space. Additionally, this premier facility boasts an amazing 12.5 Megawatts of available power in its current configuration, and plans are in place to upgrade the facility to 18 Megawatts within the near future.

Through this engagement, SimpleNet will close their downtown San Diego Data Center and will migrate the entire operation to the AIS facility at Lightwave. Killian will continue to operate the “SimpleNet” brand from newly appointed colocation space within the AIS Data Center.

In addition to providing industry-leading colocation services, AIS leveraged a rich internal talent pool in order to ensure that SimpleNet customers had the resources necessary to plan and execute the migration successfully. AIS is well known for providing a “One-Stop-Shop” experience, with a full suite of on-site Engineering and Support Services. The company also offers a host of managed services which include security products, load balancing, and disaster preparedness planning, of which the newly migrated colocation customers will be able to take advantage.

Alessandra Carrasco, CEO of AIS said, “One of the key differentiators our organization possesses is our ability to create tremendous value in each and every situation we come across. In this particular case, we worked closely with John and the team at SimpleNet to develop a strategy which enabled their organization to leverage the strengths of AIS’s state-of-the-art infrastructure for the benefit of their customers. It was a win for everyone involved.”
